From Staff Reports
Bleckley County Middle School has released an updated dress code for the upcoming school year, outlining clothing expectations for students.
According to the school, students are expected to dress in a manner that is safe, respectful, and appropriate for the learning environment. Clothing should not disrupt the educational process, create a safety hazard, or draw excessive attention.
The updated guidelines address acceptable shirts, bottoms, dresses, skirts, and athletic wear while also identifying prohibited clothing items, including leggings, jeggings, yoga pants, visible undergarments, and clothing with holes or tears above the knee. The policy also includes specific requirements for athletic pants and joggers.
The dress code further prohibits clothing or accessories displaying references to drugs, alcohol, weapons, gangs, sexual content, or vulgar language.
Parents and students are encouraged to review the complete dress code and student handbook before the start of the school year.
