From Staff Reports
The meeting room at the Tessie W. Norris/Bleckley County Library was packed Tuesday afternoon as families gathered for a high-energy performance by magician Chad Crews as part of the library’s summer reading program.
Children and adults filled nearly every available seat, with many sitting on the floor to enjoy the interactive show. Crews kept the crowd engaged with a mix of magic tricks, audience participation and humor. He also introduced two snakes during the program, drawing plenty of excitement, curiosity and a few surprised reactions from the young audience.
The standing-room-only crowd is another sign of the strong community support for the library’s summer reading activities, which continue throughout the season with programs designed to encourage a love of reading while providing fun for all ages.
