Residents are reminded that the Dre Day Foundation’s 5th Annual Gun Violence Awareness Festival will take place Saturday, June 6, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cochran.
The event, which celebrates five years of awareness and community action, will run from noon until 9 p.m. Organizers have extended the hours this year to provide even more opportunities for families and community members to participate.
Planned activities include games for children, food vendors, a cornhole tournament and other family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
A special candlelight vigil will be held at dusk to honor loved ones and promote a message of peace and unity within the community.
The festival is open to residents of Cochran and surrounding counties and is designed to bring people together for a day of fellowship, remembrance and positive community engagement.
The event will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located in Cochran.
Reminder: The festival begins at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 6, and continues through 9 p.m., with the candlelight vigil scheduled for dusk.
