Children and families will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of rocks, gems, fossils and meteorites when the Mid-Georgia Gem and Mineral Society visits the Tessie W. Norris/Bleckley County Library on Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m.
The educational program will give attendees a chance to see real gems, minerals and fossils up close, including meteorites from outer space. Participants will also learn where rocks and minerals can be found throughout Georgia and the surrounding region.
The presentation is part of the Ocmulgee Regional Library System’s summer programming and is designed to encourage curiosity, discovery and hands-on learning.
The event is free and open to the public.
