Runners and walkers will once again lace up their shoes this summer as the Liberty Run returns as part of Cochran-Bleckley’s Fourth of July celebration.
The event will feature both a one-mile run and a 5K race beginning Saturday, July 4 near Citizens Bank of Cochran.
According to event information released by organizers, the one-mile race begins at 7 p.m., followed by the 5K at 7:30 p.m.
Registration is $20 for each race, and online registration will remain open through noon on July 4.
Participants can register online through RunSignUp.
The races are part of a larger Independence Day celebration planned for Downtown Cochran, which includes live music, food vendors, contests, children’s activities and fireworks after dark.
Organizers encourage community members to bring lawn chairs and spend the evening downtown celebrating with family and friends.
