The Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library is preparing for a summer full of reading, learning and family fun as its 2026 Summer Reading Program officially begins.
This year’s lineup includes story times, animal programs, crafts, magic shows, juggling, science activities and more — all designed to encourage children to keep reading throughout the summer months.
Events begin today, May 27, with the Summer Reading Kick-Off Party at 10 a.m. and continue through July with a variety of educational and interactive programs for families.
Upcoming highlights include:
- Duck Duck Dinosaur Storytime — May 29
- Reading Paws with Scout the Dog — June 8
- Magician Chad Crews — June 10
- Untamed Zoo — June 17
- Ventriloquist Marc Griffiths — June 25
- Quite A Catch Juggling — July 1
- Diggery’s Dino Adventure — July 8
