Local journalism is not always comfortable journalism.
Sometimes the stories are uplifting and easy to tell. Sometimes they involve difficult questions, public records, hard conversations and information that may make people uneasy. That comes with the responsibility of reporting news.
At The Ledger, we do our best to report fairly, verify information through credible sources and official records, and give people opportunities to share their side of a story. We are not perfect, but accuracy and truth matter deeply to us.
Disagreement comes with the territory in journalism. It always has. But personal feelings cannot determine whether facts are reported. They will be reported.
Our goal remains the same: to serve the community honestly, professionally and without fear or favoritism.
Just some late night thoughts.
