Here we find a classroom where a child is completely out of control. It may seem unbelievable, but scenes like this take place in schools every day.
This picture shows a fearful teacher, laughing students, a mother in shock, a father who is angry, and a little boy in need of attention.
Don’t you wish you knew what happened next? You might expect some form of discipline, but in many cases, teachers and administrators are limited in how they can respond to unacceptable behavior.
Things are different with God and His children. From the Scriptures, we see examples of how God responds to disobedience.
When Israel refused to enter the Promised Land because of unbelief, that generation wandered in the wilderness for forty years (Numbers 14).
When the people turned to idolatry and made a golden calf, judgment fell upon the camp (Exodus 32).
In the early church, when Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit, they fell dead in God’s presence (Acts 5).
God is not indifferent to willful sin or hypocrisy among His children, and that truth calls for serious reflection in our own lives.
