The Bleckley County Royals opened the second round of the state playoffs with a 5-3 win over Fannin County on Thursday at home.

Bleckley jumped out early, scoring four runs in the second inning to take control of the game. The Royals added another run in the fourth and held off a late push from Fannin County to secure the victory.

Boatright went the distance on the mound for the Royals, pitching a complete game. He allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out seven to earn the win.

At the plate, Cole led the Royals with two hits and two RBIs, while Elliot added two hits. Bleckley totaled eight hits in the game to back the strong pitching performance.

Fannin County threatened in the middle innings but couldn’t overcome Bleckley’s early surge.
