The Bleckley County Fire Department responded to a total of 87 calls during the month of March, according to a report recently released on the department’s Facebook page.
The majority of calls were medical-related, accounting for 36 incidents. Firefighters also responded to 15 brush fires, reflecting ongoing concerns with outdoor burning and dry conditions.
Other notable calls included:
12 vehicle wrecks 7 tree down or power line incidents 7 landing zone assists 4 mutual aid calls 2 vehicle, agricultural equipment, or equipment fires 1 hazardous materials (haz-mat) call
The department reported no structure fires, fire alarms, or dive/boat operations during the month.
An additional 3 calls were categorized as “other.”
The monthly report highlights the wide range of services provided by the department, from emergency medical response to fire suppression and support operations across the county.
Residents are encouraged to remain mindful of fire safety, particularly during dry conditions that can increase the risk of brush fires.
