The Bleckley County Royals came up short at home Wednesday, falling to Jeff Davis 6-2.

Bleckley struck first, taking an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Jeff Davis responded steadily, scoring in four different innings to pull away.

The turning point came in the middle innings, when Jeff Davis plated five runs across the fourth and fifth to take control of the game. The Royals were unable to recover despite adding a second run late.

Bleckley finished with four hits on the night. W. Boatright led the way with two runs scored, while G. Cole and J. Johnson each drove in a run.

On the mound, G. Cole started strong, allowing no runs over two innings, but Jeff Davis capitalized against the bullpen to build their lead.

Defensively, the Royals struggled at times, committing five errors that contributed to Jeff Davis’ scoring opportunities.

Bleckley will look to bounce back in their next outing as they continue region play.
