Twins. They still have the same hairstyle. My mom was an identical twin, Irene and Aileen. They looked so much alike that they never got tired of being mistaken for each other.
My aunt Irene had two sons, Roy and Wayne, and my mom had two as well, Ronnie and me. Roy was born first, and then Ronnie. Nine years later Wayne was born, and then I came along.
I’ve often said that I owe my life to my aunt Irene. If she had not given birth to my cousin Wayne, I might never have been born.
They were very competitive; neither would let the other outdo her.
But we do know that it is God who is in control of life, both its beginning and its end.
David reminds us in Psalm 139:16 that God saw us even before we were born and that every day of our lives is written in His book, unfolding under His watchful care and purpose.
Rick Warren said, “God’s timing is always perfect. We may not see it, but He is weaving our lives together in ways beyond our understanding.” It should humble us to realize that even the smallest details of our lives are known and used by God for His purposes.
